Hosting an ambassadors’ level counter-corruption meeting in Kabul, Saleh said the government was taking firm steps to increase custom revenues by removing corrupt individuals and restoring good governance, according to a statement of the Presidential Palace.
The statement called on the international partners to cooperate with the Afghan government in fighting corruption and crimes and helping restore good governance in the war-battered country.
Some former and incumbent government officials have recently been referred to the country’s attorney general office for corruption charges or embezzlement.
Afghan leaders have repeatedly said that the government is determined to fight administrative corruption and get rid of the corruption menace of the government departments.
